Barbados/Katahdin Cross
Barbados have been a part of our farm for a long time when our youngest son asked us to help save this threatened species. We found the flavor of the Barbados to be mild so we added the Katahdins to increase the size and enhance the lamb flavor. The Barbados are very unique as is the Katahdins. They are both good meat animals. The sheep are great grazers and allow us to keep our farm mowed.
Scottish Highland Cows
This same son also talked us into Scottish Highland cows. They are beautiful and very calm animals even the bull. We harvested our first steer about a year ago and the meat was amazing. You do have to wait a long time though. The average time to harvesting size is two years. Our moms and our bull are really our pets. So many people love to see the beautiful majestic animals.
At our farm we offer live animals for sale and lamb meat. For those of you who enjoy smoking meat. We have a great smokers package of lamb, spice rubs and apple or peach wood smoking blocks. Contact us to inquire.
